    Ode to Gravity

    by Catherine Blauvelt

I have known you for a little while now

Sky, and with you my throat orchards. Few flowers

Remind people of bugles. I forgot.  I

Left her poinsettia leaves. I put my eye-

    Lids to heaven, Nina-boltz, Nina-boltz.

I put my eyelids to heaven, yet navy

Moons my thoughts. Clear night with spray paint, no one’s

Like you, like you animal. Land cherries

And tigers, so well, so well. Nina you

Need a little sword for a little feast.

While eve lightlessly lifts everything up, up

And up, Gravity I’m glad I live with you

And only. No calamity, nor drummed

Up love in my nocturnal internal.
